About Zach Nance

Fitness should make your life better.

I help real people build strength, move better, and feel confident in their bodies.

Zach Nance, Exercise Scientist & Strength Coach

My name is Zach Nance, and I believe fitness should make your life easier — not become another source of stress, pain, guilt, or exhaustion.

I believe that because I have been on the other side of this process myself.

For more than a decade, I have worked at Perry Park Country Club, spending much of that time in the food industry. I understand what it is like to work long hours, be surrounded by food, feel exhausted at the end of the day, and struggle to make your own health a priority.

For years, I felt lost when it came to fitness and weight loss.

I went from diet to diet and workout to workout. I would spend a few weeks following one plan, then switch to something completely different because I was not sure whether I was doing the right thing. I was putting in effort, but I did not have a clear direction.

There was no map.

I know what it feels like to wonder whether anything is actually going to work. I know how discouraging it can be to keep starting over, especially when every new program promises to be the answer.

Eventually, I stopped looking for one extreme solution and started learning how the different pieces worked together.

Strength training, everyday movement, nutrition, recovery, consistency, and realistic habits all had to support each other. Once those pieces began to align, everything started to change.

I have now lost more than 60 pounds.

That journey helped me move better, feel better, become stronger, and develop a level of confidence that I did not have before. It changed the way I experienced my own body and the way I lived my everyday life.

The biggest lesson was not that I needed to work harder than everyone else.

It was that I needed the right direction.

Once I finally understood what I was doing and why I was doing it, progress stopped feeling impossible. It began happening more steadily — and faster than I remembered being possible — because I was no longer wasting weeks jumping between conflicting plans.

I finally had a map.

Why I do this

I am not asking you to do something I have never done myself.

That experience is a major reason I became so passionate about helping other people. I understand what it is like to feel overweight, confused, uncomfortable, and unsure where to begin. I understand the frustration of trying plan after plan and wondering why nothing seems sustainable.

I also know what it feels like when the process finally begins to make sense.

My personal journey does not mean that everyone's path will look exactly like mine. Every person has different needs, circumstances, health considerations, and goals. But I can honestly tell you that I have been in the position of feeling lost — and I know how valuable it is to finally have guidance.

In many ways, I am a walking example of the approach I now teach.

  • Not because I followed a perfect diet.
  • Not because I trained for hours every day.
  • Not because I punished myself into changing.

I made progress by learning how to bring the right pieces together and applying them consistently enough for them to work.

That is what I want to help you do.

Who I work with

People who feel like improving their health is impossible.

Maybe you have been dealing with pain for a long time. Maybe you feel stiff, weak, tired, or uncomfortable in your body. Maybe you have gained weight and do not know where to begin. Maybe you have tried workout programs before, only to end up overwhelmed, excessively sore, discouraged, or injured.

You may look at the fitness industry and feel like none of it was created for you.

Everywhere you turn, someone is telling you to work harder, eat less, move faster, lift heavier, or completely transform your life overnight. You see extreme diets, exhausting workouts, unrealistic schedules, and people who seem to organize their entire lives around the gym.

That is not how I believe fitness needs to work.

You do not need to become a different person before you are worthy of feeling strong, capable, and confident. You do not need to spend every free hour exercising. You do not have to punish yourself for where you are currently starting.

You may simply need a plan, a realistic starting point, and someone who knows how to help you move forward.

That is what I want to provide.
