The credentials
behind the coaching.

I would rather show you the receipts than ask for your trust. I hold a bachelor's degree in strength and conditioning from BCCS, and I am an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and an ISSA Certified Nutrition Coach.

Here is what each one is, and just as importantly, what it changes about how I coach you. Credentials are not results — they are the reason you should not have to guess about your training.

Education & Certifications

A degree and two certifications.

Degree

B.S. Strength and Conditioning

BCCS

The longest piece of this. Years of human physiology, biomechanics, program design, testing, and exercise prescription — the difference between guessing at a workout and knowing why it works.

  • How the body produces energy and adapts to stress
  • Program design and progression over months, not weeks
  • Movement screening and fitness testing before loading
  • Reading a research study and telling good data from marketing
Certification

Certified Personal Trainer

ISSA — International Sports Sciences Association

A nationally recognized credential covering exercise science, client assessment, exercise technique, and safety. It also keeps me accountable to continuing education rather than a gym-floor opinion.

  • Assessing where you are starting from
  • Coaching technique that holds up under load
  • Programming around injuries, time, and equipment
  • Continuing education to keep the credential current
Certification

Certified Nutrition Coach

ISSA — International Sports Sciences Association

Nutrition is where most people stall, so I trained specifically for it. This is why nutrition coaching is part of my offers instead of a PDF I hand over and never mention again.

  • Energy balance, macros, and realistic portions
  • Building a plan around foods you already eat
  • Habit change that survives travel, kids, and holidays
  • Knowing where coaching ends and medical care begins
What This Changes

None of this is decoration.

A credential only matters if it shows up in your programming. These four things are where mine do.

Programs built on adaptation

Your training is sequenced around how the body actually responds to stress over weeks and months — not copied from a celebrity workout or a trending split.

Nutrition handled properly

You get someone who studied energy balance and adherence, so food guidance is specific to you and does not rely on a single diet being ‘the right one.'

Screening before loading

Before I add weight, I want to know what you can do safely. That habit comes straight from an education in assessment and exercise prescription.

Answers you can trace

When I tell you why something works, I can point to the research behind it — and say honestly when the evidence is thin or still developing.

Straight Answer

Where my credentials stop.

I am not a doctor and I am not a registered dietitian. A certified nutrition coach is not licensed to diagnose, treat, or prescribe for medical conditions — and I will not pretend otherwise. If something needs bloodwork, medication, or a medical diagnosis, I will tell you to get it and build your plan around what your provider says.

And my credentials do not do the work. You do. My job is to make the next ten decisions obvious so your effort lands where it actually counts.

Questions

Ask the obvious.

Do I need a degree to get in shape?

No. Consistency, effort, and a plan you will actually follow matter far more than my diploma. The degree changes the quality of the plan you get and how quickly we fix it when something stalls — it does not decide whether you are capable of doing the work.

What does ISSA Certified Personal Trainer mean?

ISSA is a long-standing industry certification body. The Certified Personal Trainer credential requires coursework in exercise science, client assessment, exercise technique, and program design, plus a final exam and continuing education to stay current.

Are you a registered dietitian?

No. A certified nutrition coach is not a registered dietitian or a physician. I can help with training, food choices, portions, and habits. If you have a medical condition, take medication, or suspect a deficiency, I will tell you to speak with a doctor or registered dietitian and build your plan around their guidance.

Do my goals require all of these credentials?

No. You can get results with far less. My education is there so you do not have to guess — so the programming, the nutrition, and the adjustments are based on how the body actually adapts instead of whatever is trending online.

Next Step

Enough about me.

Tell me what you want to feel stronger about and I will tell you honestly whether you need coaching, a self-guided plan, or just a few adjustments you can make this week.
